Let’s look the General settings for folder options.
In “browse folder” settings, select each folder in the same window, i am recommending this.
Next navigation pane settings, the best settings for file explorer is by selecting “show all folders” and automatically expand to the current folder.. Then click apply and click ok button.
This option will be the best fit because the result of the setting will we get access to the subfolders within the selected folders in the left side window. That will look like this.
Next we are going to see the settings to be do for viewing the folders. Which are the best settings and Why that settings is better.
When you are working with large number of files and folders, you have to set the the options as follows.
I recommend the options to set check or tick mark, in “Always show icons, never thumbnails”. The reason for recommending this setting is that, if you are working with mass files and folder, loading time for showing thumbnails will increase , so it will tale windows long time to load.
You can use viceversa settings for if you have only less files to handle.
How to incease speed of a computer
Look at the image above, we have to set the folder options in windows 7 for best result.
Hide empty drives in the Computer folder : I am recommending you to uncheck this option as is you checked, If you insert empty external disk or pen drive, that will never shown in computer window.
Below that you will see another option to check or not, which is Hide extensions for known file types, This is good option and usefule for many reason. I am recommending you to uncheck this option, because if you check the options there will never show the file extension of file with the file name.
If you have a document file in microsoft word as my file, The file will be visible as “myfile.docx” or any other files with file extensions such as .ppt, .pdf, .xml, .psd etc.
Another advantage of unchecking this will help us to identify the virus files with file extensions “.ecc”
I will write an article that virus file extension and share you.
When typing into list view
by default, when you type a letter, Windows/File Explorer selects the first file or folder which has a name that starts with that letter. When the file listed out, the item is automatically selected. If you want to change this setting and you want to automatically search in the upper-right search box, select the first option which says ‘Automatically type into the Search Box’.
Look at the above settings, By default the settings are good for our system. The setting done for the search preference is good for faster indexing and fast searching. So don’t make changes.
Let’s conclude the article. This option settings guidance for windows 7 will be highly recommended as your windows file explorer will work faster in terms of search, indexing , and simplicity. If this article is helpful to you , please share this to your friends.
